Pls help I don't understand!

Kara is painting flowerpots. She uses 1/3 cup of paint for each flowerpot.
How many cups of paint does Kara use for 2 flowerpots? Show or explain how you got your answer.

if she uses 1/3 for one she uses 2/3 for 2 because 1/3 times 2 is 2/3

step 1 Address formula, input parameters & values

1/3 and 2/1

1/3 times 2= ?

step 2 Multiply both numerators

= 1 x 2

= 2

step 3 Multiply both denominators

= 3 x 1

= 3

step 4 Use above values of step 2 & 3, and rewrite as below

= 2/3

thus, 2/3 is equivalent fraction for 1/3 times of 2.
