So to find Area, use the formulas:

A = Length x Height (Rectangle)

A = Base x Height / 2 (Triangle)

Rectangle:

A = L x H

A = 8 x 2 = 16

Triangle:

A = B x H /2

A = 8 x 6 / 2 = 48/2 = 24

16 + 24 = 40

The Composite Figure Area is 40in.
