Angle A and angle B are the linear pair of angles, and linear pair of angles are supplementary angles,

m(∠A) + m(∠B) = 180°

(3x - 20)° + (2x)° = 180°

5x - 20 = 180

5x = 200

x = 40

By substituting the value of x in the measures of each angle,

m(∠A) = (3x - 20)°

= 3(40) - 20

= 120 - 20

= 100°

m(∠B) = 2x°

= 2(40)
