Answer:

x= 2.5

x= 2.5x = - 4

Explanation:

1:2

x² : (20 - 3x)

x2 : x 1

2x² : 1(20-3x)

2x² : 20 - 3x

+3x , then - 20

2x² + 3x - 20 = 0

2 x - 20 = - 40

x to get - 40

+ to get 3

(8 x - 5 = -40 & 8 + - 5 = 3)

Split 3x into 8x & - 5x, then factorise:

2x^2 + 3x - 20 = 0

2x^2 + 8x - 5x - 20 = 0

2x(x+4) - 5(x + 4)

(2x-5) (x+4) =0

2x - 5 = 0

+5

2x = 5

÷2

x = 2.5

x+4=0

-4

x = - 4

x=2.5,-4

Hope this helps!

Answer:

Explanation: x^2 : (20 - 3x) = 1 : 2

2x^2 + 3x - 20 = 0

(x + 4)(2x - 5) = 0

Solution:

x = -4

x = 5/2
