Explanation:

Let us assume the greater number x and the smaller number be y

Now according to the question, following equation should be made

1 ÷2 (x - y) = 2

x - y = 4 ..................... (i)

And,

x + 2y = 13 ................(ii)

Now solve both the equations

-3y = -9

y = 3

Now x is

x - y = 4

x - 3 = 4

x = 7

Hence, the greatest number and the smallest number be 3 and 7 respectively
