Sue's car does approximately 570 miles on a full tank of 60 litres of petrol. Work out how many miles she would travel on:

Answer:

For such a question, first find the distance the car can go per litre of petrol.

This car goes 570 miles on 60 litres.

The distance per meter is:

= 570 / 60

= 9.5 miles per litre

You can then use the figure above to find the miles that can be travelled on various quantities of petrol.

If Sue has 5 litres of petrol for instance, she could travel:

= 5 * 9.5

= 47.5 miles
