Answer: y=-(1/4)x+5

Explanation:

(-4,6) (4,4)

\boxed {(x-x_1)/(x_2-x_1)=(y-y_1)/(y_2-y_1) }

x₁=-4 x₂=4 y₁=6 y₂=4

Hence,

\displaystyle\\(x-(-4))/(4-(-4))=(y-6)/(4-6) \\\\(x+4)/(4+4)=(y-6)/(-2) \\\\(x+4)/(8) =(y-6)/(-2) \\

Multiply both parts of the equation by -2:

\displaystyle\\-(x+4)/(4) =y-6\\\\-(1)/(4)x -1=y-6\\\\-(1)/(4) x-1+6=y-6+6\\\\-(1)/(4) x+5=y\\\\Thus,\ y=-(1)/(4) x+5
