Little help with this? A baker made 9 cupcakes, each a different type. Four people want to share them equally. How many cupcakes will each person get?

Since 9 cupcakes would be split by 4 people, the fraction is 9/4, which is 2 1/4, so each person would get 2 1/4 cupcakes.
If you need a whole number as an answer, each person would get 2 cupcakes and 1 would remain.
