Definition of a Complete Sentence

A complete sentence must have a subject and predicate and express a complete idea.
You can write a complete sentence with just two words in it: 1) a verb that expresses an action or a
state of being, and 2) a noun that performs the action.

EXAMPLE:
Eagles swooped.

• What is the action? swooped
• swooped is the predicate.
• What performs the action? Eagles
• Eagles is the subject.

Choose the complete sentence (s).

Answer:Because we use such statements when we are talking directly to someone, we omit the word you. It is understood in the sentence. Therefore, in statements like this one, we say the subject is you.
