Corresponding angles

Angles at lower right of the points of intersection are corresponding angles, and are congruent:

(9x -16)° = (8x +1)°

Linear pair

The marked angles at the bottom form a linear pair, so are supplementary.

(4y +3)° = 180° -(9x -16)°
