The junior class sold boxes of pecans at $6 each and boxes of peanuts at $5 each. They sold a total of 82 boxes for $440. How many boxes of pecans and peanuts did they sell?

I NEED THE EQUATIONS...I can get the number of pecans and peanuts..I just need the equation to find them..please help me

x +y=84


6x +5y=440

\implies x +y=84

Cost of one box of pecan =$6

So, cost of x boxes of pecans =$6x

Cost of one box of peanuts = $5

So, cost of y boxes of peanuts =$5y

\implies 6x +5y=440
