answer: m= -1-7 over -5-5 which equals 4/5.

Answer: y - 7 = 4/5(x - 5)

Step - by step:

there are many ways of doing this because there are different forms in which the two points can be converted into.

Let's do point-slope form:

All you need is the first x and y points, the slope of both points, and put them into this formula:

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

Let's find the slope by using this formula:

y2 - y1/x2 - x1

which will give you:

-1 - 7/-5 - 5 =

-8/-10 =

-4/-5 =

4/5

So now with the slope, we need to plug it into the formula in place of m

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - y1 = 4/5(x - x1)

So the last thing we do is put x1 and y1 or (5, 7) into the formula:

y - y1 = 4/5(x - x1)

y - 7 = 4/5(x - 5)

So y - 7 = 4/5(x - 5) is your final answer for a point slope form equation

You can do this in intercept form which needs the y-intercept and is presented in this formula: y = mx + b.

Or you can convert it into a standard form which can be converted from either of the forms with a few steps. It depends on what formula you want it in that you will get the answer you desire.
