Answer:

Missing length = 13 cm

Explanation:

Formula we use,

→ (Hypotenuse)² = (Height)² + (Base)²

Forming the equation,

→ x² = (5)² + (12)²

Now the value of x will be,

→ x² = (5)² + (12)²

→ x = √(25 + 144)

→ x = √(169)

→ [ x = 13 cm ]

Hence, hypotenuse is 13 cm.

Answer:

hypotenuse = 13 cm

Explanation:

using Pythagoras' theorem

a² + b² = c² ( c is the hypotenuse )

with a = 5, b = 12 , then

5² + 12² = c²

25 + 144 = c²

169 = c² ( take square root of both sides )

√(169) = c , that is

c = 13
