Surface area of cuboid/rectangular prism:

l = 70 cm

w = 50 cm

h = 40 cm

Find the Total surface area of the solid box and then multiply the area by 0.05. This will give us the painting cost of the box.


\sf \boxed{\text{Surface area of box = 2(lw+wh+hl)}}

= 2*(70*50 +50*40 + 40*70)

= 2* (3500 + 2000 + 2800)

= 2 * 8300

= 16600 cm²

Cost of painting = 16600 * 0.05

= £ 830
