-2 3/4 + 5/9

-2 3/4 = -11/4

-11/4 + 5/9

-11/4 = -99/36

5/9 = 20/36

-99/36 + 20/36

99 - 20 = 79

-99/36 + 20/36 = -79/36

-79/36 = -2 7/36

The answer is C) The sum is a fraction.
