On the number line, 13 metres is in line with 1 second. So, that means the hummingbird flies 13m/s.

Then to work out the second box, for how much time it takes to travel 39 metres, you would have to do 39÷13=3. This means that in 3 seconds, the hummingbird flies 39 metres in 3 seconds.

To work out how many metres the hummingbird flies in 10 seconds, you would have to do 13×10=130. The reason why you times 13 by 10 is because the hummingbird does 13 metres in 1 second, but we want 10 seconds, so we times it.
