SK = 7 + 2 = 9

SJ = SQ + 5

Given


(SP)/(SK) =
(SQ)/(SJ) ( substitute values )


(7)/(9) =
(SQ)/(SQ+5) ( cross- multiply )

9 SQ = 7(SQ + 5) ← distribute parenthesis by 7

9 SQ = 7 SQ + 35 ( subtract 7 SQ from both sides )

2 SQ = 35 ( divide both sides by 2 )

SQ = 17.5
