The expression we have is:

7+8x=0

And we need to solve to find the value of x.

Step 1. To solve for x we need to leave the term that contains x alone on one side of the equation. For that reason we will need to subtract 7 to both sides of the equation:

7-7+8x=0-7

And as you can see 7-7 on the left side will be 0, so we will be left only with 8x:

8x=0-7

and on the right side, 0-7 is equal to -7:

8x=-7

Step 2. Now we need to divide both sides of the equation by 8 in order to solve for x:

(8x)/(8)=-(7)/(8)

8/8 on the right side, is equal to 1, so we will be left with x:

x=-(7)/(8)

And this way we have found the value of x.

Answer:

x=-(7)/(8)
