hello

to solve this question, we need to write out an equation to relate both accounts

first of all,

let John be represented by x

let Jess be represented by y

from the question, John has $25 in his account more than Jess.

we can write that out as

x=y+25

the equation to represent John's account is written as x = y + 35

but we already know what Jess has in his account?

we can simply substitute the value into the equation and solve for x

\begin{gathered} y=35 \\ x=y+25 \\ x=35+25 \\ x=60 \end{gathered}

from the calculations above, John has $60 in his account
