Answer:

x = 3

Explanation:

-24 < x - 3 - 8x

-24 < -7x - 3

-24 + 3 = -21

-7x - 3 + 3 = -7x

-21 = -7x

-21 / -7 = 3

-7x / -7 = x

3 = x
