To find how many more yards she needs, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Convert 4 miles to yards.

Knowing that in 1 mile there are 1,760 yards, in 4 miles there will be:

4\cdot1,760=7,040

4 miles is the same as 7,040 yards.

Step 2: Find how many more miles are needed.

Lizzies has already walked 5,260 yards. To reach 7,040, x yards are needed.

x is the difference between 7,040 and 5,260:

\begin{gathered} x=7,040-5,260 \\ x=1,780 \end{gathered}

Answer: 1,780 yards are still needed to reach 4 miles.
