Is it more acceptable for women to serve in the military today? Why or why not?

I don't think it is MORE acceptable per say, it has always been acceptable in my mind. In society, yes it is. It has become more widely spread for women to be in the military, and more common, that if you went to a military base there will most likely be lines of women there training or doing their job.
