Solve the equation.
√(5x + 1) = 6

Step 1

Square both sides

$(\sqrt[]{5x+1})^2=6^2$

Simplify;

$(\sqrt[]{5x+1})\text{ (}\sqrt[]{5x+1})=36$
$\begin{gathered} 5x+1=36 \\ 5x=36-1 \\ 5x=35 \\ (5x)/(5)=(35)/(5) \\ x=7 \end{gathered}$

Hence, the value of x=7
