This means that you have to solve the operations between the like terms.

Like terms are those who have the same variables/ exponents.

For example

10 and 8 are both constants, they can be considered like terms

x and 3x are like terms, they have the same variable "x" and the same exponent "1"

5y² and -7y² have the same variable "y" and the same exponent index "2", so they can be considered like terms.

The terms "-7n" and "16n" are like terms, so you can add them to simplify the expression:
