in a simple electric circuit ,a 12.0 ohm resistor is connected across a 6.0 volt battery what is the current in the circuit?

In order to determine the current in the circuit, use the following formula for the Ohm's law:

V = I/R

where

V = 6.0 V (voltage)

R = 12.0 Ω (resistance)

I = ? (current)

solve the formula for I, and replace the rest of the paramters:

I = V·R

I = (6.0 V)(12.0 Ω)

I = 12 A

Hence, the current in the circuit is 12 A
