what is the range of the function f(x) = 3x - 1 when the domain is {-3, -2, -1}?

A. {-9, -6, -3}

B. {-10, -7, -3}

C.{-10, -7 , -4}

D.{8,5,2}

Find the value of f(x) for the different values of x

so

For x=-3

f(x)=3(-3)-1

f(x)=-10

For x=-2

f(x)=3(-2)-1

f(x)=-7

For x=-1

f(x)=3(-1)-1

f(x)=-4

therefore

teh answer is the option C.{-10, -7 , -4}

Part 2

Determine the range for the function given the domain {-2, 0, 2}

y=x^2 + 3

substitute the values of x and solve for y

For =-2

y=(-2)^2+3

y=4+3=7

For x=0

y=(0)^2+3

y=3

For x=2

y=(2)^2+3

y=7

the range is the set {7,3,7}
