We are given set of equations in the question.

Question one

\sqrt[]{4x\text{ + 9}}\text{ - 3 = }5

Firstly, collect the like terms

The equation becomes

\sqrt[]{\text{4x + 9}}\text{ = 5+ 3}

Secondly, square the both sides

\sqrt[]{(4x+9)^2\text{ }}=(5+3)^2

Square will cancel the squareroot

(4x + 9) = (5 + 3)^2

Solve the expression inside the parenthesis

(4x + 9) = (8)^2

4x + 9 = 64

Collect the like terms

4x = 64 - 9

4x = 55

Divide both sides by 4

4x/4 = 55/4

x = 13 3/4
