The parent function
![y=(1)/(x^2)](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/nq34pwbn2fcbnqdgtisjn2gq1txfwm8gn2.png)
has a vertical asymptote of x = 0, and a horizontal asymptote of y = 0.
Since there is a shift of 4 units down, the horizontal asymptote is now at y = -4.
And with the shift of 1 unit right, the vertical asymptote is now at x = 1.
