6(x-3)=2(x+5)

Use distributive property on both sides of the equation:

\begin{gathered} 6\cdot x-6\cdot3=2\cdot x+2\cdot5 \\ 6x-18=2x+10 \end{gathered}

Subtract 2x from both sides, and 18 to both sides:

\begin{gathered} 6x-18-2x+18=2x+10-2x+18 \\ 4x=28 \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by 4:

\begin{gathered} (4x)/(4)=(28)/(4) \\ x=7 \end{gathered}
