Weare given the ratio of student getting an A to students getting a B as :

A : B = 1 : 2

If 22 students received an A , then the number of students that received a B (x) must be the answer to the following proportion that uses these ratios:

A / B = 1 / 2

22 / x = 1 / 2

we solve for x by crossmultiplying first:

22 * 2 = i * x

44 = x

So, the number of students getting a B is: 44
