Answer:

The play "Romeo and Juliet" is set in Verona. Montagues and Capulets are the two important families residing in Verona. There is a constant rivalry going on between the two families. Because of this rivalry, riots have taken place that has harmed the life and property of the people. The rivalry has not end among the families but has now extended to divide the city between two parties. In Act 1 Scene 1, the Prince of the city, Prince Escalus, calls for the end of the rivalry among the two parties. He expresses that how this rivalry has turned the city into a war place.
