Given,

The number of dogs Bert have is 4.

The number of dog food cans bert have is 5.

The amount of food Bert give to their dogs is,

\begin{gathered} \text{Amount of food = }\frac{Number\text{ of food cans}}{number\text{ of dogs}} \\ =(5)/(4) \\ =1(1)/(4) \end{gathered}

Hence, each dog will get 1(1/4) or (5/4) amount of food.
