The above rough sketch repressents the shaded area of the mural and the shaded part is a rectangle.

Area of a shaded mural = Length x Breadth


\begin{gathered} \text{Length}=\text{ }(6)/(8)m \\ \text{Breadth}=(4)/(8)m \\ \text{area of the shaded mural = }(6)/(8)*(4)/(8)=(24)/(64)=(3)/(8)m^2 \end{gathered}

Hence, the shaded area (blue) of the mural is deduced above.
