Note: This question needs practical measurements so I am going to use my clock at home. Otherwise, you can measure the clock at your house and work out.

the diameter of the clock= 30 cm

the radius of the clock= 15 cm

(a) the area of the clock is

\pi r^(2) = 3.14 * 15^(2) = 706.5 \: cm^(2)

(b) The length of the minute hand covered in one hour is equal to the circumference of the clock.

The circumference of the clock is

2\pi * radius = 2 * 3.14 * 15 = 94.2 \: cm
