SOLUTION

The expression for the number of tiles in a row is

12*2^(n-1)

Hence

For the first row, n=1

\begin{gathered} \text{for n=1, substitute into the answer tab, we have } \\ n=1 \\ 12*2^(n-1) \\ 12*2^(1-1) \\ 12*2^0=12 \end{gathered}

Hence

The first row has 12 tiles

Thus

Answer: The value 12 represent the number of tiles on the first row (Option A)
