Solve the system by substitution.3x = y-5x -10y = -35

3x = y



-5x -10y = -35​

Then substitue

y= 3x in equation

-5x - 10y = -35

Then

-5x -10•(3x) = -35

-5x - 30x = -35

-35x = -35

x= -35/-35= 1

Now find y

y= 3x= 3•1= 3

Then answer is

x=1. y= 3
