We have a rectangular room with sides of (3x+6) and (4x-1).

We can calculate the area multypling both sides:

\begin{gathered} (3x+6)(4x-1) \\ 3x\cdot4x+6\cdot4x+3x\cdot(-1)+6\cdot(-1) \\ 12x^2+24x-3x-6 \\ 12x^2+21x-6 \end{gathered}

The expression for the area of the rectangular room is:

12x^2+21x-6
