(8)/(9)\text{ = }(w-2)/(6)

To solve this problem we ned to isolate the "w" variable on the left side of the equation, as shown below:

\begin{gathered} (8)/(9)\text{ = }(w)/(6)\text{ - }(2)/(6) \\ (8)/(9)\text{ + }(2)/(6)\text{ = }(w)/(6) \\ (w)/(6)\text{ = }\frac{2\cdot8\text{ + 3}\cdot2}{18} \\ (w)/(6)\text{ = }(16+6)/(18) \\ (w)/(6)\text{ = }(22)/(18) \\ w\text{ =}(6\cdot22)/(18)\text{ = }(22)/(3) \end{gathered}

The correct answer is the second option.
