Madeline has a smart phone data plan that costs $25 per month that includes 10 GBof data, but will charge an extra $10 per GB over the included amount. How muchwould Madeline have to pay in a month where she used 3 GB over the limit? Howmuch would Madeline have to pay in a month where she used went over by x GB?

we are told that a plan costs $25 per month for 10GB and each extra gigabyte costs $10. If C is the amount she has to pay and "x" the number of additional Gigabytes during the month, then we have the following relationship:

C=25+10x

If during the month 3 extra Gb were consumed, that means that x = 3, and the total cost to pay is:

C=25+10(3)

Solving the operations:

\begin{gathered} C=25+30 \\ C=55 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the cost to pay is $55.
