given the function :

f(x)=x^2+2x-6

to find f(-2), substitute with x = -2 at the given function

\begin{gathered} x=-2 \\ f(-2)=(-2)^2+2\cdot-2-6 \\ f(-2)=4-4-6 \\ \\ f(-2)=-6 \end{gathered}

so, the answer is : f(-2) = -6
