Answer:

if a pound of beef cost 4.59 we multiply this by 3 and get 13.77 the price of 3 pounds, if we do the same for chicken and multiply 3.20 by 3 we get 9.60

13.77-9.60=4.17

3 pounds of beef is $4.17 more than 3 pounds of chicken

Given :

Chicken costs $3.20 per pound, and beef costs $4.59 per pound.

To Find :

When purchasing 3 pounds, which meat is more expensive and by how much.

Solution :

Price of 3-pound chicken.

Price of 3-pound beef.

Now, the difference in price :

P = $13.77 - $9.6 = $4.17 .
