A farmer wants to produce pigs that are larger in order to get more meat from them to profit. How could the farmer get larger pig offspring from their population of pigs on the farm? In your response, be sure to include:

Would this be sexual or asexual reproduction?

Would this be natural or artificial selection?

Explain the process of natural or artificial selection that the farmer would use.

Describe some potential downfalls (negative things) from doing this.

(Your response should be at least 4 sentences.)

Answer:

This would be sexual reproduction and artificial selection.

The farmer would take the largest pigs to breed so they can both give their genes to their offspring which would then also most likely be large.

This can cause genetic mutations and diseases within the farmer's pigs.

Step-by-step explanation:

Sexual reproduction because you have 2 organisms in the process of pigs reproducing.

Since the farmer is picking and choosing which animals are breeding with each other, it would be artificial selection.
