p represent the perimeter of the base, assuming that the pentagon is regular we get:

p=8\cdot5=40\text{ in}

h represents the hight of the prism, which in this case is:

h=20\text{ in}

B represents the base area, which in this case is:

B=110in^2

The surface area is:

\text{SufaceArea}=40in\cdot20in+2\cdot110in^2
\text{SufaceArea}=800in^2+220in^2
\text{SufaceArea}=1020in^2
