1) The total surface area of a cube is given by a formula:


TSA=6s^2

2) Since the cube in the picture is made up of 3 squares wide and 3 squares in length we can tell the following:


TSA=6(3)^2=6*9=45\:u^2

Note that the area of one of those tiny cubes is 1 ft² because:
