In order to compare both fractions, we need to put them in the same denominator, and then we can compare the numerators.

Multiplying the numerator and denominator of the first fraction by 2, we have:


(3)/(4)=(3\cdot2)/(4\cdot2)=(6)/(8)

So stock 1 dropped 6/8 and stock 2 dropped 5/8, so stock 1 dropped more, since 6/8 is greater than 5/8, therefore the correct option is the second one.
