The slope of a line is given by its change in the y-axis direction by its change in the x-axis direction. In our case,

m=(4)/(50)=(2)/(25)=0.08

Therefore, the slope is 2/25, which is equivalent to 0.08.

b) Remember that 100%=100/100=1; therefore,

\begin{gathered} 100\%\to1 \\ x\%\to0.08 \\ \Rightarrow(x)/(0.08)=(100)/(1) \\ \Rightarrow x=100\cdot0.08=8\% \end{gathered}

The grade of this highway is 8%
