To solve an equation we need to isolate the unkown variable on the left side. This is done by switching the operations of each term in such a way that if a term is adding it'll go to the other side by subtracting and if a term is multiplying it'll go to the other side by dividing.

\begin{gathered} -2\cdot(x\text{ + 3) = -2x - 6} \\ -2x\text{ - 6 = -2x - 6} \\ -2x\text{ = -2x -6 + 6} \\ 0\cdot x\text{ = -2} \\ \end{gathered}

Since we can't have a value that when multp
