We have been given two functions which are;


\begin{gathered} k(x)=3x+2 \\ \text{And} \\ h(x)=-2x-8 \end{gathered}

The algebraic solution is shown below;


\begin{gathered} k(x)=h(x) \\ 3x+2=-2x-8 \\ \text{Collect like terms} \\ 3x+2x=-8-2 \\ 5x=-10 \\ \text{Divide both sides by 5} \\ (5x)/(5)=-(10)/(5) \\ x=-2 \end{gathered}

The graphical solution of k(x) = h(x) is now shown below;

Note that the purple line shows;
