We have an irregular figure and the dimensions of the sides.

To calculate the area we will divide the figure in regular parts and then add the area of all the parts.

We can write the area S of the figure as:


\begin{gathered} S=S_A+S_B+S_C \\ S=(3\cdot3)+(2\cdot5)+(4\cdot4) \\ S=9+10+16 \\ S=35 \end{gathered}

Answer: The area of the figure is 35 in^2
