One of the largests causes of deforestation and forest degradation is the agricultural expansion. Agricultural expansion is used to make large-sacale livestock ranching and plantation overtacking small-scale farming, the expansion of the plantation needs wide and flat areas to be able to be used for crop purposes, being the direct driver of almost 80% of tropical deforestation (Brasil is one of the countries that is going through this kind of deforestation in Amazon region). The acceleration and intensification of the agricultural expasion has resulted negative impact to rainforests, loss of biodiversity, and general changes to climate in the locals affected by the agriculture advance.
